I had overexerted myself in the battle of that other world; several people had come to help me, there and afterward.

The United Earth had launched an attack upon the world of one the transports here. Many of us who were battle-ready went to try and stop it.
We did not succeed.

This is the first time I have witnessed or been a part of a calamity that great in my time spent in this world. Others who have been here longer may know of other such disasters, but I have not yet heard of it.

Oh yeah, they could use a few good ceiling murals in every hospital I've ever been to. Think of the poor people who have to stare at them all day! The nicer ones put up posters, sometimes. Nicer nurses, I mean!

Much of this city is in need of that kind of consideration. Color, like weather, can have various impacts of one's outlook.
