[Axel looks a bit haunted and haggard, like he hasn't slept in a few days and maybe was recently in a fight. Which wouldn't be incorrect assumptions, for that matter. He stares at the feed a moment like he's not sure what to say, then frowns.]

According to the date on my tablet, I've only been gone a little over a day. [A bitter laugh.] My, how much can change in a day.

[A brief pause and then he puts on a private filter.]
[Private to Riku]

We should talk. [His tone is severe, but not belligerent. You got some 'splainin' to do, Riku.]

Are you okay?

I still have all my limbs and most of my vital organs, so I think that qualifies as okay. [Courtesy laugh.] I, ah... guess I just had a bit of a rough reentry on my way back to Exsilium.

If you say so... What were you doing? Were you on a mission?

No, for some reason the Initiative decided to send me home temporarily. [A helpless shrug and a shake of his head.] I dunno why--it's not like I was missing anything particularly exciting. [Only the complete and utter destruction of his whole life and all.] Frankly I'm glad to be back! Home's boring--at least this place has interesting people in it.

That's so weird. In fact, don't even get me started.

Suffice it to say I'm glad you're safe.

Yeah, the screwy time stuff with this place just gives me a headache.

[And he rubs his head for emphasis, then looks a little surprised by Asami's words. He's been so caught up in moping over Xion and Roxas' departure that he didn't really stop to think that anyone here might be affected should he go home. He remembers how instantly pleased he had been to spot Asami's face in the crowd after she'd been gone; funny the way you grow fond of people without really trying.

[He manages a watery smile.]

Yeah. I, ah... [Well, he is safe, even if he's not too happy about how things went back home. He gives a short, helpless sort of laugh that might actually be a bit closer to a scoff.] It's good to see the lineup around here hasn't changed. I'm not really interested in losing any more allies.

Yeah, we're... still kicking. [Whooo. No, she doesn't sound as if she knows whether or not that's a good thing. Can't tell these kinds of things anymore.]

What're your plans for right now?

Kicking is good. [But he knows that tone. In the end, though, there are very few cases where　not kicking is the preferred state of being; he won't get into that, though. Motivational speaking isn't really his forté.

[He shrugs one shoulder.] Right now? [Headscratch.] Nothin', really. Still got no roommates since the old ones went home, so I thought maybe I'd try and make something to eat. At least if I'm here alone it won't piss anybody off when I inevitably set off the smoke alarm.
