[Axel looks a bit haunted and haggard, like he hasn't slept in a few days and maybe was recently in a fight. Which wouldn't be incorrect assumptions, for that matter. He stares at the feed a moment like he's not sure what to say, then frowns.]

According to the date on my tablet, I've only been gone a little over a day. [A bitter laugh.] My, how much can change in a day.

[A brief pause and then he puts on a private filter.]
[Private to Riku]

We should talk. [His tone is severe, but not belligerent. You got some 'splainin' to do, Riku.]

Yeah, I think that's kinda how it usually works.

[A pause. She can tell he's not fine, not really, but her experience tells her that pushing these kinds of things too much won't help. Still, just making sure he's not going to tell her whatever it is that's going on... That sounds like a good idea.]

I don't think it's been long at all since you disappeared, so it makes sense I'd still be here. But, more importantly, you know you don't have to lie if everything's not fine, right?

Memory's a funny thing like that, I guess.

[Another awkward rub at the back of his neck and he avoids her eyes.] Well, I just mean that Xion and the others disappeared with no notice, so... there's really no telling when somebody's gonna just up and vanish, right? [He wags a finger importantly at her, deftly not acknowledging the latter half of what she said.] So just because I wasn't gone very long doesn't mean the cast list around this place hasn't necessarily changed.

Well, yeah, but out of all the days I've been here, there's not a high chance it would've happened to be the day you were gone that I'd go missing. But it's good not to take things for granted, so I guess you're right in that way!
