001 [Video]

[The video begins with Ashe sitting on the corner of her bed. The Sword of Kings, an intricate two-handed sword, is propped against the wall on the bed. Dark circles and bags have formed under Ashe's eyes, making it clearly that she has barely slept since her arrival. She grips the Dawn Shard tightly in her hand, it reminds her of home and the warm desert breeze that she misses so. Ever since her arrival she has worried what is happening back in her homeland.]

Does anyone know what happens in our homes while we are here?

[She pauses clutching the Dawn Shard to her breast.]

If I have disappeared in Ivalice, then who knows what sort of terrible fate will befall my people. I have abandoned my people when their need is most dire. There is much I need to do at home and yet I sit here awaiting instructions.

[Sighing heavily she bites down on her lip, and then reached up brushing back a few loose strands of dark blonde hair.]

I do not mind helping, as I understand one's need for freedom, but I wish they would at least put my mind at ease. I have my own worries and plights to deal with, I fear I cannot handle being a part of another resistance while my mind is clouded with thoughts of my own. It would simply be too much for me to handle.

They tell us that our worlds will remain as we left them. Unless we fail in our purpose here, and then they'll surely be consumed by whatever plague befell this one!

[ His tone is more mocking than grave. ]

[There's a short pause before she begins to speak.] What do you mean?

They say that if we do not help our worlds'll fall to the enemy they'd have us fight.

It's up to you if you believe them.

I see, so they're holding all of Ivalice for ransom? Their leader is smarter than I gave them credit for.

[latkje]

They've admitted they can't really pick where they pull us from, so it seems unlikely they can choose where to get back. But maybe we're like maps, or breadcrumbs in the fairy-stories. Maybe once get here, the way back is obvious.

I don't know. And it's not particularly pleasant to think about!

That does sound like an interesting theory. Has anyone tried to seek out further information?

How would you suggest one start?

I'm Nash, by the way. I know it says so, but it's more fun for me to do it.

[She taps her chin thoughtfully.] Hmm...I do believe that if we look to the past, we could learn more and it would be more in depth, than if we were to simply look at the present.

People have been coming in for at least a year. Whether they've tried this before— I've no good way of knowing.

We could ask but...since they gave us this, they may be watching us as we use it.
