Hey, I finally got this working! Kinda embarrassing it took this long. Can't even work stuff like this and I'm not even old.... Wait, wait, I just might be able to make this a lot more interesting.

[there's that tell-tale static of a microphone being turned on.] Gotcha! Man, this little thing is so cool! It still doesn't make up for, you know, any of this. Honestly, breaking and entering, kidnapping, forced labor...what the heck would they even need with ordinary people? Wouldn't they want super heroes or trained soldiers instead? This all seems way too fishy for me.

First things first...where can a guy find a decent meal around here?

Just asked someone what missions were. Once they tell me, I'll tell you. Deal? And don't think that way. Remember, it takes all kinds. You never know when you'll be just the right person for the job.

So it turns out what we're supposed to do varies from mission to mission. We never find out until we get there. Kind of a hodgepodge situation.

Uh. I'm pretty decent with magic tricks? I mean, other than being a detective once, that's it.

So then it's impossible to fully prepare! That sounds a bit tricky. I'll have to do my best to be ready for many things.

[Ishimaru's head tilts just a bit at that, curious.] Being a detective sounds like a useful skill! And magic tricks often require coordination and sleight of hand, don't they?

All you can do is be ready for culture shock, I heard. They send us off to other places and have us do--whatever. Good luck with that, though.

[you're gonna boost his significant ego, ishimaru.] Aw, magic tricks aren't much of anything. Might buy us enough to escape one time. And being a detective is more about how much paperwork you're willing to put with than anything else.

[Ishimaru shakes his head at that.] That's a useful contribution though! Even if it is only one time! Where I was before this place, it was detective work that allowed my classmates to stay alive! Though there wasn't any paperwork involved in it, so perhaps it was a little different.

[consider adachi's interest piqued.] Sounds way different. How exactly did your schoolmates get involved with detective work?

It's a difficult story! To tell and to believe. My classmates and I were kidnapped and locked in a school building -- with all the doors and windows bolted shut -- and told that we had to kill each other if we ever wanted to leave. But, when a murder did happen, we had to investigate it and identify the culprit or we would all be executed.

[He talks about it plainly enough. It happened, after all. The only parts of it he can't talk about so matter of factly is, well, the murders themselves. And specifically what happened with Oowada and Fujisaki. Maybe that's not surprising though.

But his own murder he doesn't have many issues talking about. He's an odd kid.]

It was really trying, but many of my classmates were wonderful people, so I am glad I got to meet them!
