So, um, first off I just wanted to say hi to all the new people! And say that I'm sorry you're kind of stuck here, too. It's tough, but there are lots of nice people here, so if you're having trouble with anything I bet you'd be able to get help. Except going home, that's still a mystery for everyone.

[And then a smile breaks out on her face, and she moves her tablet so the feed shows a wing of one of the gyms with a barre running along a wall, and mirrors attached to that wall. As quickly as she turned the camera away from her face, it's focused back on her.]

I know last time that I mentioned I was looking for a place to dance, and some other people mentioned they'd be interested in the same thing, so I asked the Initiative people if it would be okay if we could have a wing in one of the gyms to turn into a place for the dancers here to practice. And, um, they said yes, so here we are! There's not going to be formal lessons or anything, unless somebody else wants to set something like that up. I just wanted to let everyone know that they can stop in whenever they want to!

Oh, and - if there's anybody interested in going outside the city sometime, I'm looking to take a trip or two. Before anyone gets all worried, I know to be really careful, and I've done it once before.

[With another smile, she leans forward to end the feed.

Because it's so gloomy here, you mean? Like, the weather and all?

Everything is so gloomy here! The weather, the situation we've been placed in, the slums I've seen in this place... I can go on, but I won't.

[A pause; she's torn between gladness Sheryl hasn't seen a place this bad before, and empathy from the fact that the girl has to experience it now.]

You can go on if you wanna. I can listen.

It's just that... they remind me too much of Galaxy. It's sickening.

[But she'll keep it short because she doesn't want Ahiru to worry so much. She sighs gently and pushes a smile out of her lips.]

But now that I'm here, with everyone else, something must be done. Overthinking can't be all that good, right?

Galaxy? What's that?

[She nods with a smile.]

What do you think you're going to do?

An industrialized chemical plant fleet. [Oh wait, this might cause confusion.] In other words, a space colony that travels around and is well-known for its factories.

[She shakes her head.]

I don't think, Ahiru, I know what I'm going to do. [A beat.] I'll keep practicing my power so I can help anyone who needs it when the times comes. It's the least I can do so we can end the war sooner.

That doesn't sound too bad at all! What's wrong with it?

Oh, you have a power? What is it?

It looks just like this place!

[She points to her throat as she hums thoughtfully.]

Back home, I sing to help the soldiers fight against gigantic alien bugs. My voice has a special hypnotic quality — both on stage and off.

Ah, this reminds me... I've been told that weapons can actually evolve, and without any bugs in my way, I can safely practice!

But factories make stuff that people need! So it's good, right?

Oh, gosh, that's amazing! Hypnotic, like you can put people into a trance?

But there is absolutely no plant life! Nothing but smoke up in the clouds and— [She immediately interrupts herself with a shake of her head.] I'm sorry, I'd rather not talk about this anymore.

[Bad memories. But yay, something else that's more pleasant to talk about. She chuckles.]

My music tends to do that, especially when my audience listens closely and moves along to the beat.

Do they know it's like, hypnotizing or whatever before they go into it, though?

Most of the time, yes.

[A small laugh.]

But I can't give away too many details! It's a professional's secret.

Well, I wouldn't want to ruin your business or anything! [A giggle in return.]

I don't think it'll be a problem, Ahiru. Perhaps I can run my business here!

Oh, that'd be fun! I'd love to hear you sing sometime.

Once I officially plan my debut concert, everyone in Exsilium will be invited to attend! That includes you, too.
