It's hardly any fault of mine if your myriad of hedges and "would"s sound more like an excuse for inactivity than some principled reservation of effort. I mean, if you're willing to sacrifice something that could benefit you, solely because it might also benefit others, that sounds like you don't value your own success or aspirations nearly as much as you seem to claim.
