[For Henry, the past month has been rougher than any other in recent memory. Confessing to the only person in this wretched place he is comfortable calling a friend that she'd been keeping intimate company with a vampire was more emotionally trying than he expected. But that paled in comparison to a week spent living--finding himself with a pulse for the first time in four and a quarter centuries--and then having it taken away again.]

Surely I'm not the only one who'd rather our personal timelines never sorted themselves out.

I can see how that would be kind of disorienting. But hey, instant face-lift, right? Who could say no to that.

[ Because that's why you liked being younger, clearly. ]

[ This is probably too nosy, but nobody's really given him crap for being nosy yet, so- ]

Yeah, maybe. But you really liked being younger, huh? I mean, I thought the whole "wanting to relive high school" thing was a myth. Nobody in their right mind wants that.

Oh. Well, that's - that sounds kind of heavy. [ Brain to mouth filter, teenagers don't really come equipped with those.

And now there is just a really long

awkward

pause

because he totally wants to ask what Henry would want to change, but even he knows that'd be rude. Maybe if he does it in a roundabout way. ]

So, like... go back and buy winning lotto tickets?

[ He's quiet for a moment, distracted by his own thoughts. There are definitely a few things he wouldn't mind taking back. ]

I don't think it works like that. [ Or he could just not talk about feelings with a stranger, let's do science instead. ] Time travel. It's usually either linear or multi-universe, right? So everything that's happened has always happened somewhere, no matter what you do. You can't change it. I mean, you can, but even if you do, it still - you know?

[ Peter can definitely appreciate that - ignorance really is bliss, sometimes. He's busy thinking instead of listening because of it, so there's a delay before answers. ]

Oh - sorry. Peter, Peter Parker. Did I catch yours?
