[Once she holes herself up in her flat, she sets to reading from the book that's hidden beneath her mattress. It's something of a journal, rough and beaten up at the edges, and while most of it contains field notes...there are also things about people, about her life to be. She finds Anders' name, and Nathaniel's, and the things she reads sound like they're from some bard's tale instead of truth.
Atticus looks up when Pounce enters but makes absolutely no move to stop him from rubbing against Elissa's legs. She looks down and audibly gasps at the large cat, setting aside her book as he hops onto her lap.
Pausing to assess the situation, she eventually gives in to petting duty, rubbing soft lines in his groomed fur and allowing him to curl up in her arms.]
