Hello
Is anyone awake?
Hello
Is anyone awake?
no subject
A–[a little start.] Yes, just...right here, actually...[wow, that's funny, huh? he points to the door next door, feeling hot at the ears.] Right there, ah...
[ANYWAY. going inside, hushing his tone:] I only found one pencil, though...Is that alright? I can share it...
no subject
Wow, I had no idea. That's great that I have a friend right next door though. ( quietly shutting the door with that and leading him along toward her where her room is. ) I think I might have one, if not I can always use one of my colored pencils.
( annnd pushing her door open, please excuse (or not) all the stuffed animals. )
Make yourself comfortable.
no subject
[plushies. plushy critters are new. he openly gawks around the room.
it's...it's so much different than the one he's, uh, borrowing. the look, the...the smell. it's a good smell.]
This place is really nice...
no subject
( that's enough to make her smile grow, she's pretty happy with what she has managed to do in her time here. it's not home, but it's homely... and that's enough for now. )
Thank you. I really wanted to make this place... um, well, inviting and comfortable.
no subject
his eyes drop to the plush critters arranged in view.]
What are those?
no subject
Oh, those are stuffed animals. They're toys that I really enjoy collecting, hehe. ( she wonders over and pointing to a practically odd looking pink seal. ) The seal was actually the first one I got here, my friend bought it for me.
no subject
[no florescent animals where he's from, that's for sure.]
no subject
no subject
he's never really seen many animals before, so it's pretty easy to trust her. just...
if he ever saw anything like these in the wild? it'd be pretty startling!]
I've never seen things like this before... [blink.] Unless I have, but never...never really looked. They're from the city?
no subject
( she assumes, because the future is WEIRD. )
You can probably find cats and dogs around the city. Owls would probably in the forests, but I've never been out there to see and seals live in the ocean... so I don't think we'd be able to see any here.
no subject
That's almost a shame...they look kind of friendly, like this.
no subject
Oh! Speaking of colors, ( just turning away and grabbing a few things here and there before setting the contents on her bed. papers, a few colored pencils in various shapes and colors and some books because gotta bear down on something! ) Ta-da!
no subject
oh!
he smiles.]
These are for drawing the letters, right?
no subject
( Madoka reaches out to take a sheet of paper for herself but stops short of taking anything else, simply folding the piece of paper once and then twice into a square shape. )
You know, I just got an idea of what we could do with our letters since we send them.
no subject
he blinks.]
no subject
So we could write our letters, fold them into cranes and maybe we could reach a thousand one day.
no subject
A thousand... [man. that sounds like a lot! but.
but it sounds exciting.
grinning:] We'll try, right? Can you show me how?
no subject
but there was no point in not trying, right? and the more she thinks on it, the more she wants to try and see it through. )
Yes, of course. ( she turns away again, this time to grab a pair of scissors from her drawn and get to cutting the paper into squares- keeping one and holding the other out to Martin. ) Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.
no subject
he sits down on the floor next to the bed, shifting to keep out of her way as he pulls his ankles in to sit cross-legged.]
...What is a crane, anyway?
no subject
( following, she sits down and begins to sketch out a rather cartoonish looking version of the bird on her square of paper.
but it gets the point across of how they look, she thinks as she shows him. )
They're symbols of good fortune and longevity back home, and the legends goes that they can live for a thousand years.
no subject
Is that really true? Or is it just...legends?
no subject
( she smiles softly before flipping the page over and writing a greeting to her family down, but without the tablets auto-translating everything it simply appears as Japanese and stays as such. )
Hmm, so much has happened it's hard to know just where to start.
no subject
flattened out and smoothed on the floor best he can, it shows his work: alphabets over and over, scrawled first in Bariyan's hand, traced thickly over in Martin's. fairly gradeschool, but then...Martin never learned to write, and this is a new body. double new?
speaking of double, he does a double-take when he sees her writing. a little startled:]
Wait– what's that? Those aren't...[he leans forward, squinting at them.] What letters are those?
no subject
( glancing back to his paper, she tilts her head a little. ) Are you learning English?
no subject
No, I'm...it's letters. [he frowns a little, not understanding.] Like the words on the machines, but...
