Again, disastrous problems befell us. And again, not everyone came out of this unharmed. What more will it take to convince others to stand together and fight?

Our threat is not only just this UE, nor the Initiative who has shown its care for us if not recently then in the past on multiple occasions. What’s more, the threat has become infighting as well.

We are on our own.

[A bit of silence with a final AHEM.] With that, I’m announcing our third Defense Meeting that will be held this Saturday morning in the gardens, as last time.

We are a group that in time will grow stronger in defending not only ourselves but each other and that is our cause; to protect each other and fight as one during whatever circumstances, whether they be battles or something similar to what we’ve recently faced. This meeting we will be choosing our leaders amongst our own by nominations and by vote. But I encourage everyone to come and see for themselves the cause we are standing for.

And Barnaby Brooks, if you have a moment, I’d like to speak with you.

[An exhausted sigh, and finally,] ... Thank you. I'm Fiona, and I've been the one organizing these efforts thus far. If you have any questions, I'll answer them.

I hope so as well. But that isn't going to happen unless everyone tries. I can repeat myself as many times as it takes but nothing will be done unless others follow and keep trying with me. That is the point of unifying, it's... [It looks as though she's ready to continue but clamps her mouth closed.]

I'm hoping you'll try and join us again, at the least.

[He pauses for a few seconds as if he's thinking on it some.]

I suppose the purpose is to try. You needn't explain why. I think I have a pretty good idea.

To gain allies is a tremendous effort among the paranoid. I hope that many see this as an effort of unification than as an effort to rebel on a superficial level.

If I gain entrance on the inside among the Initiative as a scientist, I could offer you information to your cause.

I have never once stated the cause for rebellion. Considering our... predicament I'd hope others would be just as wise in assuming that's not what the cause is for. But I can understand if that's how they see it. [Snort] Certainly.

Information, such as? My only concern would that be the case, is that the information could go both ways. It's a good idea, but I'm sure you can imagine why I would be worried of this.

I would worry if you didn't have concerns. You see, you're correct to assume that it does present problems on both levels, mainly the attention would be on myself than to anyone I choose to give information to that I feel is beneficial to the relevant parties.

You must understand, in order to maintain your station in your cause, so must the other side in their efforts. No one person should have power over all. That would lead to corruption. We are here to stop that, yes?

So, with that said, whether you trust me or not is your choice. Like I said, if I can gain access inside, perhaps that could offer you some leverage to what the United Earth really is. I have yet to get that far.

The only person in danger would be me. I can promise you that.

[He's kind of sad that the Initiative did not really help out much, but he understand what it means. They are on their own, at least partially. so...]

I don't think I'm qualified for leading anything...but I would like to join and help.

[Hah!] Which leaves even more concerns as to what those Initiative bastards tend to do once the United Earth has been taken down by our efforts. They become the power and however good they may assert that they are... let's simply say that I have my doubts.

But again, what sort of information would you be willing to share? And what sort of information would you be planning to share with them? If that is what you mean by leverage.

[Snort.] Leaders aren't the only ones who are helpful in any effort.

But if you can take the time to try and help at all, I'd appreciate it.

Ah, I don't know that part fully just yet. So far, the Initiative seems noble in their cause to help us and the world, but the effort is ours alone for the moment.

What I do know that whatever we do here, they are using it for their own. The information is minimal at best. You see, I promised them my hand to aid them with their efforts to grow food and find another energy source.

Thus, in doing so, they have my knowledge to use and that is their leverage for the time being. Your leverage will be far more valuable than what I can create for them.

[There's a muffled, bitter laugh. She's had a rough week, don't mind her.] You really think so?

I'm glad you'll come. If you can, then tell others. For now, it may be the greatest assistance anyone can offer. The more who understand what we are actually up against, the better.

Oboy.] I'd hardly say simply sharing our experiences in leadership or lack there of would qualify someone to continue to do so here, don't you think?
