.001 - Day after zombies!

[sunstormed]

[The Elf fiddles with the small computer, touching the various buttons until his face appears, glancing somewhere off-camera. He is easily recognizable to some as a blood elf, and appears utterly fascinated by the contraption before him, and obviously enjoying playing with it.]

...You know, this almost seems like a neat little way to solve quite a few of my current problems, if only in a temporary fashion. Of course, in closing one door another dozen others have a habit of opening in return.

[Food for thought, there. The Elf flicks one long ear and leans back from where he's sitting, quiet for a moment, as if trying to figure out just what he should say next. When he finally speaks again, there's a lightness to his voice that isn't quite conveyed in his eyes, despite the relatively smooth performance.]

But where are my manners? I apologize. My name is Duibhín Sunstorm and I'm a recent transport, like others, it seems, for what it's worth.

[He shrugs delicately and lets his lips curl into the faintest of smiles. Time to make the best of a strange situation and find something to occupy himself with before he ends up having a temper tantrum.]

Don't be shy now. I'm rather eager to meet people.

[Frodo can't help but look curiously at the Elf; he must be one, though he looks nothing like any other elf he has ever met]

What problems would those be, that they can only be solved, but not for long?

[He peers back at Frodo curiously in return, tilting his head slightly. After a moment though he dips his head in a formal greeting, speaking in an even, polite tone.]

A ...pleasure to meet you, Frodo.

[And it is a pleasure, though based off the appearance he's not precisely sure what Frodo is. Still, at the question he arches one long brow and lets that faint smile return to his lips.]

Troubling times are coming back home, and this was a rather convenient way to escape them. I needed to slip away for awhile and thus ...here I am. Have you ever faced that sort of problem?

[He's picking up on those little cues, Med'an, and nodding slowly, losing some of that humor for wariness. Still, you get a small smile while Duib tries to figure out just what you are.]

Likewise. [it seems the hobbit can't decide where to study; the strange eyebrows or the long ears, far longer than the Fair Folk. Do they have distant cousins? The eyes too are strange, more like Shelke's than anything else]

Sometimes, though at the moment, they could not have picked a worse time to steal one away. I really must get back.

I suppose you are in no hurry yourself to get back, however.

[He chooses his words carefully, knowing little of Frodo's predicament but wanting to offer him ...something all the same.]

I'll want to go home eventually, though for the time being this place could be worse.

[he had expected to find little kindness so far into the Wilds, even so far past them, but he is surprised (and relieved) to find that those he has met so far seem a decent sort]

I am glad you are able to find a rest, in a way, and even better that you can look at it in a better light. [he hesitates, then goes on] Are things so badly off at home that this is better?

[At the question his smile fades a little for a moment before he cants his head slightly, giving the barest inkling of a nod.]

Things were growing a fair bit dim, to put it mildly, without trying to over-explain too many things just yet. It remains to see what will happen next, I suppose, here or there.

[His smile returns quickly, a bit teasing this time.]

Would it be considered rude to ask precisely what you are?

[He doesn't respond immediately, but from the quirk of his brow and the turn of his lips he's amused, Eddie.]

It seems like you've had quite an adventure thus far? Is there anything not ...normally explained I should know of? As for stories ...that simply depends on what you wish to know.

So, tell me, what's your position in the hierarchy? Lackey? Minion? Sycophant? All-around hedonistic oppressor of the people? Because you look just a little too put-together for my taste.

[He looks more than a little taken aback at the venom in his tone, pausing for a moment before replying.]

I trained as a Mage in the Academy, though my actual occupation is that of an Ambassador of the Horde.

[Any sort of mercenary work was strictly under duress.]

Ambassador of the insane war-machine, eh? How charming.

Or perhaps you could simply ask instead of coming to conclusions about said war machine. The venom isn't necessary.

[That face. There is no way to not recognize who that is, and for a moment it is conveyed in his expression. Uncertainty, fear, perhaps a mild dash of horror and confusion ...before finally acceptance and that neutrality he strives for. There will be time for questions (and oh he has questions) later.]

[He wants to know more, but not ...not yet. Sitting down for this one, the Elf peers at Kael'thas for a moment before bobbing his head in a respectful manner. Better not to go around screaming for the moment.]

Should I threaten, will that get me anywhere faster? I'm sure I could throw quite the fit if need be, but it seemed like it wasn't worth it.

[He chuckles softly.]

Oh, no, I don't think it would help much of anything. It seems that the Initiative's hands are just as tied as ours, really.

But if the trend of new arrivals is any indication, it seems to at least make people feel better.
