I'm still wondering why anybody thought it was a good idea to adopt a bunch of wild animals in the first place, but I guess there's no accounting for common sense these days. Here's hoping someone fixes the problem before too long, though; I'm almost out of OJ.

[More laughter, he can almost see a pout. Or, well, if he knew what this person texting looked like he could. But oh well. He's still amused. Sorry, Asuka, you're interesting and now you're stuck with him.]

Hey, come on now, are you really gonna throw away the foundation of an alliance over an open-ended offer of a bent ear?

Who said anything about help? We're the smart ones staying INdoors, remember? Obviously intelligent folks like us don't need HELP.

[Axel knows better than to judge someone's abilities based on their age or stature. Or gender, for that matter. You might just find he's not actually as insufferable as he acts most of the time.]

I'm right about a lot of things. The trick is finding other people with the right idea how to go about things, and boy is it a trick around this place.

[They can bond over their mutual contempt for everyone who isn't them!]

The people who brought us here are idiots. And most of the people they've brought here are idiots. And then they expect us to fight a war?

I know, right? And the ones who are willing to just dive into this like it's their fight? Please. They're expecting us to throw down the gauntlet--I'm more prepared to throw in the towel, personally. I'm not interested in dying for somebody else's crusade. They're gonna have to sweeten the pot exponentially first.

I'm not interested in dying at all.

[And admittedly, she's considering throwing herself into it, because she has no idea what else to do with herself.]

[Eh, dying's not so bad. He's already done it once, in a manner of speaking. Doesn't mean he's really keen on doing it for somebody's else's cause, though.]

Everybody dies. I'm just not planning to do it on anybody's terms but my own.
