[Why, hello Exsilium! You have a new kid in town. He looks young--maybe about 12--with tan skin and purple hair. His hair is layered at the top, but in the back it's veeeeery long, long enough that the ends of it can't be seen by the camera. He has a headband around his forehead that seems to help keep his hair out of his face, if only a little. Judging by the background, he's sitting in one of the apartments given to Transports.

Once he's sure the video's recording, he pushes some of his hair back to try to keep it out of his way, then gives the camera a shy, closed-mouth smile.]

Erm...hi. I'm Chrono and I recently arrived here. I've been trying to keep an eye on the communication through this...thing. [He motions toward the camera, and presumably the tablet.] This still feels a little weird to use, but I think I've gotten the basics down and I thought I should introduce myself, so...uh. Right. Hi.

[He stares awkwardly at the camera for a moment. He doesn't seem to have planned this out very well.]

I think I already know the answer to this question--she's not really the sort of person that's easy to miss--but has anyone heard of a girl named Sister Rosette Christopher here? She's my partner, so if she is here, I should probably try to find her...[He looks lost and more than a little lonely as his voice trails off at the end of that sentence, looking off to the side. But he's still not done with this message yet, so he gathers his wits about him and turns back to the camera.]

I have one other question, if that's okay. [sheepishly] Can anyone...show me how to braid my hair? [He holds up a yellow ribbon.] My braid got messy after I slept on it, and I had to wash my hair eventually, but...now I have no idea what to do with it, and it gets in the way when it's like this.

[ Infinite hells, they've gone and nicked kids from their homes, to? She'd had a sneaking suspicion, seeing a few of them around, but until now she'd managed to convince herself they must be native to Exsilium.

Apparently not all of them, though. When Glen clicks on her device, her expression is soft and maybe a bit pitying. ]

I haven't met a Sister Rosette, but I think I may be able to help with your hair, Chrono. [ She takes her own hair and combs her fingers through the curls, unsure if he'll be able to see through the device. Her smile grows. ] My name is Glen, and braiding's not so hard, don't worry. Here...

[ Slowly, she starts braiding her hair. ]

Easy, huh? I hope so. Rosette makes it look easy, but I've never done it on my own before.

Oh! [Chrono watches closely, then starts to follow along with the braiding. He's a little clumsy with it at first, but he seems to have the patience to keep at it. He continues talking as he braids.]

Actually if you see a lot of destruction and hear a nun's responsible, that's probably her.

I thought of that, but I think she'd be upset. Besides, I used to have it this long without braiding it and it was fine, I'm just not used to it anymore.

[sigh] She's pretty unforgettable. The night before I was taken here, we went to the house of someone that owed us money because they destroyed our car, and she managed to cause damage worth ten times more than what the car was worth with a single thrust of her arm.

Hair does grow back, but it's your decision.

Yes, that's her. I'll try learning how to braid it, and if it becomes a problem I'll think about cutting it.

Everything around here seems so complicated, but he trusts that he'll understand in due time. For now, he's equally relieved to meet someone he might possibly relate to. They even both have long hair!]
