[Promptly, the feed spins around, shifting its focus from its owner's feet to his face. The young man on the screen sizes up the device for a moment, then clears his throat.]

Hey.

[After a beat, once more, he clears his throat. He's more of a listener than a talker, really.]

My name is Souji Seta. It's nice to meet you all. [A bow.] To the Initiative, while I admit this is all a lot for me to take in, and I would've liked a little more say in the matter, I can at least appreciate what you're trying to do under the circumstances. Hopefully I won't let you down. If anyone else needs help with anything, I'll be happy to do what I can.

...While I'm at it, if there's anyone from Inaba watching this, contact me as soon as you can. I just want to go over a few things before I settle in.

Hm? Why? Am I doing it wrong? [ Gods damn it. Within a few seconds a single raised eyebrow gets a little further and further away until lo and beyond a face appears!

Glen sighs. Clearly she has a lot to learn, still. ]

Is this better? Sorry. I promise, it took me a much shorter amount of time to master clockwork machines, but I doubt that says much for my intelligence. [ Considering the technology this place has, she might as well have admitted that it hadn't taken her long to master how the wheel worked. Still, an excuse feels necessary. ] At any rate, you're welcome.

No worries. Not everyone's from the same time, it's to be expected.

[ And she hears that from all the guys, but it's still amusing enough to get a smile out of her. ]

Times and places, mind you. It's strange, I've looked at maps of this planet and there are some pretty big geographical differences compared to where I'm from. Whole continents gone or assuming different shapes... It makes me feel a bit alien, and I can't imagine I'm the only one. [ That and the technology learning curve bother her almost as much as losing the life she had in her rightful world. ]

Well, you can sort of make out the basic shape of what was there, but there's huge chunks underwater now. Guess they didn't take global warming seriously.

Really? [ Glen looks quizzical for a moment before shaking her head. She hadn't known that little detail. ] I was never great with geography, but even with that it looks really different. The history is different from what little I've read about it, too.

[ Another pause. Because... ] Also, global warming?
