[ the audio of the tablet is all that clicks on first; there’s some muffled noise, and what is possibly recognizable as the voice of Tidus, depending on who you are, saying something just out of earshot but sounding suspiciously like “don’t think that worked.” What isn’t working, exactly, isn’t clear, considering the screen’s just showing black, but it sounds like something’s being moved, and this time, more audibly:]
Let’s try this one...! [ A click, and the video shows the top of some blonde hair for half a second and a triumphant little noise before it shuts off again, and evidently hands it over to a nearby party. ] Got it?
[ after a sound of being handed to another, some of the excess noise subsides. It seems the person who has received it has a much gentler, delicate handling on the tablet. ] No, that’s not quite right. Here. [ a sound of a button being pressed, and then, the smiling face of a young woman some may recognize as Yuna. She turns the tablet around to show a blonde boy with a quizzical expression. She points to the button on the front. ] It’s this one. It took me a while, too. [ but she’s from a non-tech world, Tidus, you loser. extending her reach, she hands the tablet back to Tidus. ]
Er... Hey! Hi, Exsilium. Tidus here. And - this is Yuna. [ he offers a little wave and tilts the camera towards her a bit. ] Oh— H-Hello. [ boy, he should’ve thought this out a little better, but he’ll carry on fine. ]
We’re newbies. Well, actually... That’s mostly just me. But anyway, I was curious about something. Somebody mentioned a... Masquerade? [ he raises an eyebrow, scratching his head. ] I mean, I love parties, too, but aren’t we supposed to be saving the world? It sounds like a bad idea.
Actually.. I thought it sounded nice. Even if we need to focus on missions, we have to remember to relax sometimes.. right? [ saying things like this is almost uncharacteristic for Yuna; and the way she says it so tentatively, it’s almost like she secretly really wants to go. Yuna’s never been able to go to many parties (except, you know, the one where they celebrated her dad dying), so she doesn’t want to miss this chance!!
and, oops, seems like Tidus wasn’t expecting it either. He glances over at her, looking a bit surprised. ] --You did? [ and that expression quickly becomes sheepish - he forgot that she probably hadn’t exactly attended a whole lot of parties that weren’t weird yevon rituals. Right. Well, he still felt like he’d been brought here for the explicit purpose of fighting a war, and goofing off would feel a bit strange, but... honestly, there’s only one thing to do here, and he knows it. ] We could go together, then! I’d take you. [ a gasp, and, after a moment of contemplation, a fervent nod. ] I’d love to! Just remember it’s a formal event. You have to dress nicely, for me. [ a giggle, and then she directs her attention to the tablet once again. ] Oh, is this still on? [ that’s.. embarrassing.. she reaches forward, waves briefly, then turns it off. ]
