[Those are the first words from the brunette's mouth as she examines her way through the interface of the device with an eyebrow cocked up. A sardonic grin rests on her lips as well. She's getting a hold on it quickly because... well, it's actually kinda like being 'back home'. She didn't have the money for this kind of tech back then but she had used some of it in school so--

Anyhow, she sighs out after she's assured the thing is broadcasting. The next bit is muttered to herself.]

What am I even supposed to say?

[Back to the device now. Her voice is a touch singsong here.]

Oh hey guys, it's great to meet you! Boy I can't wait to help win a war I didn't sign up for because some jerks aren't being... well... jerks.

[Now her hand goes back to her forehead. Okay, April, try to do this without being a complaining bitch maybe.]

I understand everything that's going on. You're all from different worlds, I'm from a different world, there's the Initiative and some people going to other worlds to take resources. What I want to know now is what do we do.

[Her brow is furrowed when she looks back up, gesturing a hand and looking off to one side.]

Do we simply sit and wait until these people need us?

[A pause. She frowns.]

Or train and wait? Is that really all?

I understand that there's to be a masquerade in the coming months, to increase morale. [ So very sarcastic. He can't sound enthused about it! ] Otherwise, yes, we're sent on missions when the Initiative needs us. That is, at least, how it's supposed to work.

My idiot servant, Merlin, says that he thinks we've been brought here because of talents. Of course, he's an idiot, so don't take him at his word, but he might finally be right about something. If we weren't needed, they wouldn't have brought us.

But if you look to return home, that can be a mission as much as fighting their war.

I wouldn't get my hopes too high with that one. I've been brought plenty of places before where I wasn't needed in the end.

[And the way her voice inflects, that said with a tone of "well that's something you don't see every day".]

I visited a world subjected to a zombie apocalypse, once. I much prefer Exsilium to that world, if we're being honest.

Whatever sorcery is used to bring us here can't be done easily. People come from far too many worlds for it to be simple. No matter your experience, anyone with sense wouldn't waste necessary power and energy to bring in pointless forces.

[and he snorts at her question. yeah right.]

Tell me one place that you've ever gone that doesn't have an exit.

What if you're dead. What if you're here because you're dead? I'm not saying this is heaven or hell or purgatory or anything religious. I'm saying just what if there isn't any home for you to go back to.

[But about that first point...]

I don't know, you could have all just came here on your own. When I first Shifted, I sure didn't come with a concrete purpose. I was told, "We need help" and that was about it.
