Fellowships and paid work weren't going to spontaneously appear, they had to be sought for. Just to get that job in Austria he had to rub elbows with advisers and visiting lecturers so damn much that it's a wonder all his sleeves don't have patches on them. It was a tough lesson to learn for an antisocial post-doc like he was.]

Wait, someone said you had to lose the suit? Why? Technically it serves the purpose, hides your identity just fine. Although... the point is to look different I guess, and you do wear it all the time.
