Now that the city was back to normal, Ionae had some very important business to attend to. She was in the market place making some purchases. In her shopping bag, aside from the various random daily necessities (toilet paper, toothpaste, canned soup, etc.) is a book of nude art prints and two issues of playboy (or whatever the distant future equivalent is. There's got to be something.). She tried to be furtive and sneaky about buying them but she wasn't very good at it.

Back at her apartment, Ionae stripped her clothes off and looked at herself critically in the mirror, holding up various pictures from her new reading material for comparison.

Skin unevenly tanned making her creamy white in some places and lightly browned in others in an awkward patchwork, bags under her eyes from lack of sleep (How she hated sleep!), greasy hair that always fell flat, small breasts, and of course those damn wings. She hated this body. Still...
