[Alright, so Hawkeye may, in fact, have spent some time going through the device and getting familiar with it, and he may have read up on the situation at hand, but he's not one to run in without a plan. Well, not into all-out war, anyway. He may also have noticed some familiar people in the archives.

Unobtrusive, he stands in a corner of the banquet hall, sending out a short message:]

I heard there's some things that need shooting. My kind of welcome.

[ natasha is quick to check the network upon returning -- a new wave of transports has been brought in and received one hell of a welcome, apparently, dropped in the middle of what's beginning to look more and more like a war zone and less like a place to set up an organization's HQ. though there are no bombs this week or attempted genocides, just monsters - they can cling to that relief and consider themselves lucky.

there's nothing telling her about the identity of the person posting the text in the message itself, but it does catch her interest - and, well. she solves that problem easily with a bit of hacking, something that should surprise no one if they know her at all. she can't claim that it comes as a complete surprise, given the way people are pulled into this place seemingly at random, but that doesn't mean she's any less relieved and glad to see him -- hello there, barton, clint. codename: hawkeye. ]

A handful of bears, I believe. The grizzlies are awfully territorial.

[Oh, that's more like it. That voice is comforting and familiar, and though he doesn't drop his guard completely, he relaxes.]

I never liked bears.

[ she's already heading in the direction of the hold, because she assumes that's where she'll be able to find him -- she knows clint could've found his way to the partially destroyed apartment buildings to meet her there, natasha doesn't need to head over to find him in the section arrivals are dropped in, but that's not the point. she does so simply because she can and because she wants to. ]

That's one way to put it. I can think of a few appropriate words.

Could've been worse, and the food's not bad.

[And while he uses this device to start figuring things out, he imagines she'll come to meet him on her own. If this is what she's saying, the arrival must be fairly routine. He wasn't the only one, the speech sounded practiced, and everything was just a little too clean and neat.

Yeah, she's totally coming to meet him.]

Getting us stuck in another war isn't my idea of a vacation.

They withheld dinner when I arrived. Maybe they've made improvements since then.

[ it's been four months, give or take a week. she doesn't tell clint as much at the moment; that can wait until she gives him a proper sitrep, and she doesn't want to start doing so over the network. mainly because a large part of it has to do with loki and his missing memories.

as for vacation? she thinks they're well-deserving of one, and being dragged here most definitely got in the way of that. ]

For what it's worth, fighting monsters isn't typically on the schedule.
