Shit. This place looks almost as bad as Earth. [The voice comes first, a tired drawl as the camera on her omni-tool shakes a bit. It moves then, to her stomach, showing burned remnants of her armor barely attached to her civilian clothes underneath and a hole in her gut that's dripping with blood; the reason why her hand is there.

Finally, the camera stops shaking so much as Shepard sits down heavily against a building, not really caring about the uncomfortable feel of rubble. She switches hands and brings the arm with her omni-tool up. Her face is pretty much just in the same shape as the rest of her, bruised and bloody, although she somehow manages a smirk.] My Earth, I guess I should say. [There's a moment of silence as her eyes glaze over before she blinks again.]

So, not to worry anybody, but I think I might need a medic over here to keep me from leaking everywhere. [A snort.] Better idea: someone bring me a stiff drink. I think I could use one.

[Her eyes close just before her arm falls into her lap.] By the way, we won. [That's for the other Mass Effecters. They'll know what she means.]

Alice! [There's a clattering sound and the picture spins dizzily for a second before Kaidan's face, half-terrified, appears on screen] Where are you, I'll be right there.

[She has no idea what you're talking about Shepard. Nope. None. But she can at least see some of the injuries.]

So you were sent home?

[Pause, oright more important stuff here!]

Where are you now? I'll come and heal you.

Kaidan... [There's a moment of confusion. Because she sent you away, didn't she? Joker came and got you. She shifts so that she's looking down at her arm.] I'm sorry.

[For lying about coming back.]

[The voice is familiar, vaguely. But everything is so jumbled up in her head at this point. But she knows she's back in Exsilium. So there's that.]

Seems I needed to win my own war first. [Hmm. Where is she?] Near the Hold. [A long pause.] Bring vodka.

Then at least you have less to worry about when you return home next time. [Whoa, what is that a minor touch of jealousy? Yes, yes it is.]

If you could give me something more specific I could likely find you faster. Use the video to show where you are, if you can manage.

[Less to worry about. Shepard gives a watery chuckle, because yeah. Nothing to worry about really.]

Fiona. [The moment she says the name, the face and voice click together.] You're asking a lot from me, but I'll be nice and do what I can. [Despite everything, there's still a teasing note to her voice. With a heavy sigh, she lifts her arm back up to show an area not far from where the Hold is, only minor damage.

She could only limp so far, after all.]

[Well, she said less not nothing...]

I'll be right there.

[Actiooooon, she'll get there in maybe 5 min. tops.]

Shepard?

You don't have to apologise for anything. [There's only relief in his voice] Just tell me where you are.

Shepard?

[Elissa's frowning at the new stupid device.]

Where are you? I can't heal you but I can lend a hand if you need it. [A pause.] And possibly a drink later.

You said it, not me. [But she feels like she does.] Sitting on a building, somewhere outside the Hold. [A pause.] It hurts. Spent so much time fighting that I forgot what it feels like.

[The dead have no worries though, Fiona.

Her eyes are closed when she hears Fiona call her name, body leaning back against the wall. It feels like her body is on fire. It was hard to tell, up on the Citadel. Adrenaline, she supposes. But now she's coming down from that. It takes a moment, but she raises her hand, waves.] Over here.

[Another voice she remembers. There's a few minutes of silence before Shepard answers finally.] Elissa. [there we go. Things are getting better.

Or maybe that's a bad thing.] The drink, that I can use. I don't think Fiona is going to bring me one. [Hmph.]

[She chuckles quietly.]

No, she would not. I'll find something for you, though.

Shepard? [Tali's voice is a combination of nasally and worried, because she just caught a cold and Shepard why the hell are you bleeding everywhere. Stop that.] What - what happened to you?

Tali? [Oh, it's so good to see you again. She looks years more tired at this point.] Oh, you know. Harbinger getting its panties in a twist, sentient programs, an indoctrinated Illusive Man. Nothing new.

[She wavers a bit before leaning in.] Are you sick?

Great. Because I don't think Kaidan will bring me one, either. People are too fussy. [She shifts a bit, closing her eyes.] You'd think they'd give a hero a little reward.

Harbinger? The Illusive Man was--? [It's difficult to process everything in her current state.] Forget it, we can talk about the details later. Are you okay?

[She shakes her head quickly, which she immediately regrets doing. Ow. But she's not too concerned about herself, while Shepard is looking like shit.] I'm fine; it's just a little cold. Where are you? I'll come get you.

Jesus, love. What the hell happened to you?

[ She's seen Shepard looking like shit before, though this is a new level of looking like shit, really. But she listens in to the end of the message before flipping her shit like the others, a slow smile coming at the news. ] Good job, Shepard. [ Spoken with a rare kind of sincerity. ]

[Apparently not around here or it'd be a lot quieter.

When Fiona sees the wave, even from a distance the injuries are pretty obvious, she'll sprint over and kneel next to her.]

Maker, what did you do?

[Sigh, then again she probably doesn't want to know. She'll put a hand on Shepard's shoulder.]

Hold still.

[And she'll begin the spell.]

Won what? --do you still need someone to come help you?

The war. [Shepard groans.] A different war.

No, I'm okay, Feferi. [She grins.] Fiona said that she'd take care of me.

Hey. You, too, Jack. Your kids... [She takes a break mid-sentence, breathes in deeply. Fuck, it hurts a lot more than she wants it to, but it's worth it. Everything's worth it.] You're a damn good teacher.

[A grin.] Whiskey sounds perfect.

The usual. [Smirkety smirk smirk.] Fought machine zombies, got blown up by lasers, defeated an ancient race of robots hellbent on culling organics.

Nothing I can't handle. [Now that she's back in front of the public eye, especially her crew, Shepard's just going to brush off this fling with death.] Only a flesh wound.

[Arching an eyebrow at you, Miss vas Normandy.] You should take care of that cold before it gets worse.
