So, I've just gotta ask. How many people's parents here went to Woodstock? Because I've been hearing some pretty groovy names being tossed about.

[A pause, and Sam's voice sounds a little more amused as he continues.]

Or what about people named after their grandmothers? I know at least one.

[Totally not talking about you, Deanna-er, Dean.]

Well, if you wanna get to know your fellow Initiative prisoners, I got some great details about at least a couple. [ and it's something they could hunt, in fact~ ] Of the, you know, supernatural kind.

Really.

Dude, of course I'm sure. He went all freaky man-wolf on me, okay? [ he'd made sure of that, if nothing else. ] I dunno about his friend bein' a wolf, but it's worth some investigatin', don'cha think?

Yeah, of course. Any idea what his body count is so far?

Didn't exactly get a chance to ask but a werewolf's a werewolf. The full moon rolls around and whatever the number is will skyrocket. I say we get rid of him and any buddies he might have for good before that.

So it's possible that he hasn't killed anyone yet. [Just askin'.]

Maybe. But I doubt it-- not like that changes anything, right? [ come on sammy be a good sport here, would you. ]

[Oh lord, here they go again.]

I don't know, maybe. Maybe we should keep an eye on the guy for awhile.

[ yup. and to think he might have actually sort of missed this. ]

Real good keepin' an eye will do when he's a raging hairy monster, Sammy. Look, we know there's a problem, so let's deal with it.

And then what? We can't exactly hop into the Impala and drive off. Look, I'm not saying we shouldn't still be on the job, just that we have to be more careful about it. This isn't home court for us.

Maybe not, but people're gonna get hurt if we don't do anything, man.

[And he does. He remembers his optimism last time around, and how it didn't exactly pan out.]

We should find out about his friend too. What's their names?

One had some messed up name-- Stiles Stilinski, or something? Who the hell names their kid that? [ but whatever. ] Dunno about the other one, just know there's one around. [ except oops, your brother's research is a little off. ]

[Don't worry, he'll try for a little follow-up.]

[He snorts softly at the name.]

Yeah, tell me about it. Okay, we should have a little time before the next full moon. At least that's in our favor.

Yeah, something at least. [ this'll be great, just wait, sammy. ]

So...how's the whole settlin' in thing goin'?

[You always say that. And it usually isn't.]

It's just weird, you know? Staying in one place for this long.

[ dean looks more amused than anything. ]

Sure is, huh. [ he'd been much the same when in attollo, but by now he's used to it. but let's not talk about that. ]

It'd be kinda nice if, you know, it wasn't for the whole war thing.

[Sam hesitates, then spits it out.]

That's the one thing I feel okay about.

[ okay, yeah, dean looks surprised-- because hey, sam, if there was no war? this would be like a damn vacation, right?

But then - ]

Don't tell me this has something to do with your little guilt trip from messin' up back home.

[His silence is kind of telling. That and the way his jaw clenches and unclenches like he's trying to crack open walnuts with his teeth.]

The timing doesn't seem just a little suspicious to you?

[ oh sam. this is one of those moments where dean wishes you were still just a wee sprout and the mood could be fixed with a hair ruffle.

dean just runs a hand over his face and sighs. ]

Our timin' with everything kinda sucks though, you know? Point is, you make up for it all, okay? More than make up, if you ask me-- and it's nowhere near as nice as this. But it all goes okay, and things don't end up so badly. [ well, he hasn't quite lied this much in a while, even if some of it is partly true...there's the bad, the good, and then the very, very bad again. he has no idea how any of that ends. ]
