Hello. This is... [ She pauses and huffs a laugh, her calm a little less forced. ] This isn’t how I expected my day to go in the slightest. I have been to alternate dimensions before, goodness knows, but this time around is a bit odd. It’s very organized.

I am. [ The smile disappears into a slight frown. ] My name is Wanda Maximoff and I am known as the Scarlet Witch. For a time, I was an Avenger. If there is anyone here from my world, my name may mean any number of things to you. I hope we may speak civilly regardless.

[ Though she’s not getting her hopes up, if the look on her face is any indication. ]

Were anyone to press the case, certainly. Although I know some of what happened was beyond my control, it still happened because of actions I chose to take.

I think the only reason I didn't face one in my own world was more or less on the basis of my mind being not quite so sound.

[ And also because she helped take down a dictator possessed with a magical entity of life, but man, that is just way too long of a story. ]

And now you're with a whole bunch of people who pretty much have to be a little bit crazy to get by. Hey! You're in great company!

Have you looked at where they assigned you to stay? The apartments here are pretty decent as far as apartments go.

[ She laughs softly. ] At least I'll fit in.

Ah, I have the number, but I haven't had the chance to look at the apartment. I do have to say I've never really been to an alternate dimension that's provided housing before.

I can't tell if that makes the Initiative somewhat smart, or just a special kind of silly for how they run all of this. Where are you going to be?

A bit of both, I imagine. I'm in Unit number 510.

You're upstairs from me! Not literally, but that's close by! I bet you have a decent view. Oh, and roommates! I hope you have great roommates!

Roommates, huh?

It will be nice to share a living space with others again. I've been living in the country for a few years now and it's just not quite the same as being around people.

I know what you mean. Living around people is so much more exciting than being off on your own all the time. A little solitude can be nice, I guess, but too much just makes it easy to feel lonely. I'm glad there's a good side to being pulled into this mess for you. Socialization!

[ She grins, knowing... okay sure one bright side welcome to someone else's war -- but it is a bright side! ]

I hadn't thought of it that way. It makes the situation sound almost pleasant.

I know, doesn't it?

[ She winks. ]

Even the worst of the worst doesn't have to be all doom and gloom all the time. That's way too heavy to carry around.

[ Her smile is just a little grim. ]

And yet, and yet...

[ She relaxes a little. ]

But you're right. It's not healthy to allow the bad things to weigh us down all the time. As tempting as that is.

You know what else is tempting. Chocolate. Are you a chocolate lover?

I most certainly am.

How about cold chocolate? Kind of like ice cream, only smoother. Are you a fan of that too?

I can't say I've ever had that before. But I am a fan of ice cream, if it's similar.

[ Collette straightens up in her 'seat.' ]

All that means is you should definitely stop by 403 on your way up to your place. Consider it a welcome gift! Like a fruit basket, only more about chocolate and ice cream and less about fruit or baskets.
