This is no way to seek Asgard's assistance. I am sworn to the House of Odin; my king would not have us interfere with the realm of mortals without his command.
[ She makes a frustrated noise; clenches her fist, curls it in before releasing it. ]
Nonetheless… Honor will not allow me to refuse aid to those in need when it has been duly requested of me. [ An altogether too complex situation for her liking, and she just got through with one of those. ]
I am Sif, shield-maiden of Asgard. Make yourselves known to me, fellow warriors, that I might know what allies are to be found in this place.

What the hell is going on here, this was his playground for shenanigans! Very well. He will have to make the best of an even more ridiculous situation. :T
He does his best to mask his petulance when he appears on the screen. ]
Sif. You have arrived here, just as Thor. [ Hmm. ]
video;
What sorcery is this?
video;
It is no sorcery.
They tell me it is their "technology" with which they perform these feats. [ He's not a fan, obvs. ]
video;
Answer me thus before I hunt you down and put a knife through your throat: who are you and why do you wear Loki Odinson's face?
video;
I have not died--not ever. [ Oh. Oh. He frowns. ]
Even then.
video;
video;
It was all very strange, perhaps more for him than for her -- than for her second-hand information. ]
I ended up here, after that. Terribly... shocking.
video;
You tried to kill your friends, you succeeded in killing your brother, you tried to perpetrate genocide, and then you chose to commit ignoble suicide rather than face your crimes. Do you know how we all have grieved, how your parents mourn, how Thor spends every waking moment asking himself how he so wronged you that you committed such deeds?
And yet that you found yourself here rather than in Hela's palace is merely a passing astonishment, like some strange turn in the weather? Do not, Odinson, do not even dare, or I will finish the job myself.
video;
--and here I had thought you worried for me; how unfortunate that was not the case!
[ To be entirely honest, he can only tease for so long -- can only be so much of a cad for such a length of time. He'll never apologise, no, but he can try to make himself at least mildly peaceable. ]
I do not have words to say about it. Not to you; nor Thor.
video;
video;
And what, exactly, do you propose we are to do about it now? Here in this place?
[ aw yeah not even subtle about trying to change the subject!! ]
video;
Some expression of guilt, a sincere apology, a show of remorse might serve to start! You tried to kill me. You struck down your own brother! Do you feel nothing?!
video;
becomes confused and hurts herself like a pokemon??? idk Loki hardly knows what he's doing anymore, but his eyes are wide and for the first time he's actually looking at her when she addresses him. ]
I feel a great many things; none of which are regret.
video;
That cannot be how you truly feel.
video;
Very obviously, there were individuals here from his own universe whom had dealt with some extension of himself that had done some things so terrible and cruel that he could only wonder at them with a great curiosity and, ultimately, pride and satisfaction. He had done so well, and perhaps he could have managed a good run of assistance both from Sif, here now, and Thor --
but she was laying it all to ruin, right in front of him. Here, with her accusations, her incessant determination to glean from him some sort of emotional response that he just did not feel -- no. That was not it. He felt something, most poignantly, and that something was anger.
Loki's eyes are dark with his reply, his voice low and his words shooting from between his teeth with a serpentlike hiss. ]
Don't you dare to presume you've any idea how I may truly feel, Sif. [ He's gesturing once, though it's hard to capture here on the small amount of video screen that there is to work with -- one arm flying to his side as he clenches a fist. ]
This is none of your concern. None of this! You've no business here, not in this place!
video;
Lucky she doesn't know where he is or she might damn her honor and cut out his venomous tongue. ]
When you commit high treason and bring frost giants into Asgard, that is my business. When you conspire to usurp your brother's throne, that is my business. When you send the Destroyer to murder those who called you friend and he who is your brother, that is my business.
I am not some frightened maiden to be silenced. I am war, damn you, and it is my business if you seek to make it!
[ The rage pounds in her ears with the drumbeat noise of her blood. It sweeps over her like the ocean; it drowns her. And in the midst of it she can no longer control the words that leave her mouth. ]
If you attempt harm on any innocent here, transport or local, so help me but I will strike you down and leave your body to the wolves.
video;
[ He'd merely observed the conversation up until now, not commenting, but each had just lost control in a manner that he would not tolerate - not when they are in a strange land and they are all that are each others' allies, in a sense. ]
Sif - you will do no such thing. [ It's a tone he doesn't often use, with either of them, but possess none the less - a demanding edge of finality to it. There's a pause before he continues, this more a declaration, no room for argument. ] I claim Loki as my ward and responsibility; should he step out of line it will be my duty to seek recompense, not yours.
Loki. [ His glance moves to him on the screen and there's a moment in which his jaw clenches. He'd been interested to see how that conversation played, and in places there was a sting he'd rather not admit to, and won't be admitting to now. No, there's only a cold sort of official detachment. ] Memories of future past or no, you are still a criminal of Asgard for your deeds before the destruction of the Bifrost and as long as I remain, Asgardian law remains.
[ He pauses to inhale, this part more difficult to say than he would like to admit, but he is Asgardian law here and he must. ] For your prior crimes, we await the Allfather to judge, but should you violate law here, provoke an attack or harm any within this realm, I will pass judgement and exact a punishment upon you.
[ There's conviction in his voice, and while he regrets having to promise something as such to his brother, Thor is a Prince of Asgard and here their leader, despite what Loki may have believed he abandoned, and despite his own deep sentiment for the brother he desperately wishes to have returned. It hadn't been said yet, more assumed between the two of them, but Sif had been right in that; Loki is a fugitive of Asgard, Prince of no, and it needed to be recognized. There's a pause before the tone lowers, calms slightly, and he asks finally - ]
Do I make myself clear?
video;
You are my liege prince. Your judgment is my command.
video;
[ Loki spends a great deal of this time in a seething silence. He does nothing now to conceal his own anger, and while he does not speak, his own features -- his teeth tight together, his eyes narrowed -- his jaw impossibly rigid; all show his immense and building rage.
It does not help that Thor speaks of him as though he is a child, to be taken responsibility for. No, Loki is far from Thor's ward, especially in a place such as this. A place with such curious promise, with such grand possibilities for him and his own -- no, he will not be silenced, and he will not be leashed like some animal. Not here.
But he cannot lose his control. He cannot, not yet, not now. Not ever, he tries to tell himself, but knows even now that he cannot anticipate all situations. After all, could he have anticipated the arrival of Thor and Sif? He had not even allowed the thought to cross his mind, and here he was, trapped and cornered and feeling absolutely feral.
But he cannot lose control. He needs this. ]
Stunningly clear. [ The words shoot sharp from between his teeth. ]
video;
[ A glance is spared between the two of them, from one side of the screen to the other, and Thor is not, for once, smiling. This sort of seriousness is an odd thing on the golden prince of Asgard, but the situation at present is dire and he's not about to have his only two companions at each others' throats when they need to be working together to figure a way out of it. ]
Good. And may it be kept well in mind.
We are all that is had for each other here and I expect cooperation. [ Expect, sure, but we'll see if he can actually get that from Loki. Sif, he's certain, will fall in with him, but Loki will be moreso the problem. We'll see, we'll see. ]
video;
in the shirein exsilium )Cooperation between all of us. Of course. [ He still seems embittered—embittered and angry, though he's silent now as he allows himself to absorb Thor's words. ]
What ever would I do without your help, here in this terrifying place?
