Excuse me, if someone could help me for a moment?

[Anduin slips into view, peering solemnly at the screen. His voice is even and calm but there's an uncertainty rising in his eyes as he continues to speak.]

Has anyone seen my father? Varian Wrynn? Normally when he leaves like this I'm aware, but-

[But he's not sure, and he's uneasy even if he's doing well at hiding most of it.]

If anyone sees him, please let me know, or have him contact me, if you could. Thank you.

[The blood elf doesn't bother hiding himself. Instead he studies the Alliance prince long and hard, clearly (and rudely) scrutinizing the humanling from beyond the screen.]

So you're his son.

[He tilts his head, studying the Blood Elf in an equally curious (though hopefully less rude) manner.]

[He scoffs after a moment, carelessly running his hand through his bangs.]

Not what I expected.

[Words he's heard before. His demeanor becomes a touch more stiff and coolly polite.]

If all you are going on is knowledge of my father's actions then yes, I would imagine so.

[And Belthazar stiffens in turn.]

You say that like it matters. Are his actions different than his intentions, human prince? Because, last I checked, I would be slaughtered on sight if I set one toe into your father's territory.

It doesn't matter, I merely stated that if you were going off what you knew of my father, of course I would not be ...as expected.

[There is a distinctive lack of chin...]

Unfortunately were either of us to enter the other's territory we would be attacked first, questioned after.

[And there is something in his voice; regret perhaps.]

[He hmphs a bit.]

He did at least one smart thing in his time here: he called for a truce. It would be fine if I could visit Lordaeron as my parents once did, but it hardly matters while I'm trapped here.

[He turns his attention back to something on his desk. Judging by the momentary flicker of paper, it's a book.]

You should prepare yourself for the possibility that he returned to Azeroth.

Perhaps someday there will be true peace.

[Curiously, Anduin watches as he focuses on the book, trying not to let his words bother him.]

...The thought is starting to cross my mind.

[He doesn't even look up.]

There are far, far worse things than being separated from your father. [Like having no parents at all--] You will be reunited sooner or later. A few days, a few months, it's all the same in this place.

[He flips to another page.]

In the meantime, you can be constructive. Work on your studies, or whatever it is you do to be useful to people. There is altogether too much pointless whining around here.

I find little comfort in lazing about, as it is. But tell me, please: what separates the pointless whining from those struck with grief? In the rather short time I have been here I have seen people separated from lovers - husbands, wives, with the same mixed bitterness and joy.

[Shaking his head, even if you aren't looking up.]

There is no shame in emotions, or in being concerned as to his whereabouts. Whining would imply a lack of the willingness to do anything about it, to remain inactive and yet feel entitled to complain regardless. If he is not here, then he is not here, but I will not say that I did not at least show concern or make an effort to see that he is alright.

[Belth has a nonplussed expression-- like he doesn't care. Even if he agrees with what Anduin is saying, he's hardly the type to go wearing his heart on his sleeve. He actually enjoys being contrary and riling people up. He likes seeing what people tick. Considering Quel'thalas is filled with people who act exactly the same, this shouldn't be surprising.]

If I had a concern with your concerns regarding his safety, I would have said so. I am not unreasonable. [He looks up.] But there is far too much inquiry on the network about stupid, inane things. Too much prattle, and not enough thinking-- active thinking and solutions-- none of that. It's as if they've given up.

Will you be giving up, human prince?

I never said that you were unreasonable.

[He smiles briefly, but it fades to a more neutral expression as he listens once more, eying the tablet thoughtfully. Was it true? Were people simply giving up and expecting solutions to be offered to them? The idea was mildly horrifying in itself.]

No, I will not be giving up. Not on this or in general.

[... Oh. Belth may have been projecting there. Just a little. He doesn't say anything to that first part, and instead goes back to his book.]

Would that things were less hectic back on Azeroth - either way, it was nice to have met you.

[Belthazar looks at the prince critically, like he's just grown an arm out of his forehead. He lets out a snort and some flat laughter, then cuts off the feed.

Not sure if trolling or just really socially awkward.]
